Services will be at noon on Thursday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, on Austin Highway. Burial will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Schertz Funeral Home, Schertz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gertrude Schumacher; and sister, Gloria.
Judy was born in Mitchell, where she spent her childhood on the family farm before leaving for Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Neb.
After graduation, she taught elementary school in Jackson, Mich.
She married Dennis E. Hohn on Aug. 7, 1965, and they welcomed two daughters: Hollie (Greg) Mosley and Wendy (William) Holland.
During his 26-year Army career, the Hohns lived and traveled all over the country and the world, including: Germany, California, Texas, New York and Georgia. They continued their love of travel in retirement, taking many cruises, from Alaska to the Panama Canal, Russia and Australia/New Zealand.
Judy was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years; two daughters, three grandchildren: Cameron, Katelyn and Kolby; sisters: Frieda Fenster, Irm Strombeck and Doris Visaya, and brother, John Schumacher.
