Patricia “Pat” A. Schroeder, 77, of Alexandria, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls.
Patricia “Pat” A. Schroeder, 77, of Alexandria, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls.
She was born May 30, 1935.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church, Alexandria. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with a 7 p.m. prayer service and rosary. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.
Pat was born in Mitchell, to George and Margaret (Endres) Smith.
After graduating from Alexandria High School, she married J. Dale Schroeder on July 7, 1953, in Alexandria. After Dale’s obligation to military service, they moved back to Alexandria and began their farming career.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart League and was very active in the church.
Pat loved bowling, doing crosswords, reading, jigsaw puzzles and playing solitaire.
Pat is survived by her husband, J. Dale Schroeder; son, Mark Schroeder, Alexandria; two daughters, Lisa (Bob) Harrington and Stacey (Stan) Graber, both of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers: Janice Schoenfelder, Jon (Kaye) Smith, Fred (Karen) Smith, and Camille (Jim) Davies, all of Alexandria; and Thomas (Kori ) Smith, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jonelle (Jim) Jarding, of Sioux Falls.
She was preceded in death by parents George and Margaret Smith; special cousin, Vilas “Doc” Endres; brother-in-law, Edwin (Bud) Schoenfelder; and daughter-in-law, Denise Schroeder.
