Dale Kubousek, 57, Mitchell, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Rochester Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn., of lung cancer.

He was born on March 16, 1955.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mitchell. Burial will be in Forest River Cemetery, Forest River at a later date.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with a 7 p.m. Scripture service.

Dale Joseph Kubousek was born to John and Ann (Tupa) Kubousek in Grafton, N.D.

After high school graduation, he farmed in the Forest River, N.D., area until moving to Mitchell in 1998, where he worked for Big Green, Inc.

Dale continued to be active in agriculture and was most currently employed with Ag Systems in Mitchell.

Dale enjoyed his work, his family and his friends. He was a proud uncle — jovial, loving, caring, gentle and always interested in the comings and goings of his nieces and nephews. He especially enjoyed his time with his great-nephew, Jack Allen.

The word “complain” was not in his vocabulary, and he was a model patient during this short illness. All who knew Dale were touched by his humor and fun-loving character.

He will be deeply missed by brothers: Marvin (Sandy); Leonard (Lynn); and Jack; sister, Sharon (Joe); sister-in-law, Lynda; nieces and nephews: Kirk (Melissa), Kyle, Charlie (Amanda), Kristina (Bryce), Kate (Nick), and Joe; great-nephew, Jack Allen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Allen; and nephew, Scott Skavlem.

Dale’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Methodist Hospital (Mayo Clinic) in Rochester, Minn., and Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.
