Viola Jaton, Nunda

Viola Jaton, 78, Nunda, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Madison Community Hospital, Madison.

She was born on Sept. 4, 1934.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace JATON Lutheran Church, Nunda, with the Rev. Paul Johanson officiating. Burial will be in Winfred Cemetery, Winfred.

There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday at Weiland Funeral Chapel, Madison.

Viola Jean Lauck was born at Winfred to Verty and Bessie (Tarrell) Lauck.

She married Calvin Jaton at Pipestone, Minn., on Aug. 11, 1952.

She grew up on a farm near Winfred.

After they were married, they farmed south of Arlington from 1951 until moving to farm near Nunda in 1964.

She was a member of the Women of Life at Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin, Nunda; three sons: Rodney (Donna), Ramona; Michael (Suzanne), Rutland; and Steve (Virginia), Nunda; two daughters: Audrey (Joel) Keierleber, Colome; and Penny Hopf, Ramona; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one brother, Dale (Pat) Lauck, Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lawrence; one sister, Thelma; one son, Gary, in 1983; a grandson, Justin, in 2011; and a daughter, in infancy.
