Nicholas Patrick Van Wassenhove, 42, Chicago, formerly of Mitchell, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at North Western Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1970.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mitchell. Burial was in Chicago.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Arrangements are under the direction of Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell.

I have never met a more charismatic person; Mitchell, Chicago, and the world seems a much different place now. God bless all the wonderful Van Wassenhove family now and always. Nick was truly a great friend, father, fishing buddy, and will be dearly missed by so many that were fortunate to have known him, or had the chance to meet him. 30 years of friendship was not enough, but I feel very fortunate and privileged for the time we had; I will truly cherish the times we shared and keep them forever close in my heart.
