Viola (Stoltz) Geppert Mohr, 94, Sioux Falls, formerly of Emery, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Avera Prince of Peace, Sioux Falls.
Viola (Stoltz) Geppert Mohr, 94, Sioux Falls, formerly of Emery, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Avera Prince of Peace, Sioux Falls.
She was born on July 1, 1918.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Martin Catholic Church, Emery. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery, Emery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hettinger-Bittner Funeral Chapel, Emery.
She was born at Emery to Seth and Mary (Wethor) Stoltz.
She attended St. Martin Catholic School in Emery and graduated from Emery High School.
On June 14, 1938, she married Clarence Geppert.
They farmed in the Emery area until her husband died on Feb. 17, 1962.
She married Willard “Bill” Mohr on Aug. 10, 1963.
They lived in Emery and operated Mohr Antiques for many years.
Upon her husband’s retirement from the post office, they moved to Apache Junction, Ariz., living there for 19 years.
They moved back to Mitchell in 1994.
Viola moved to the Sioux Falls area in November 2011.
She is survived by three daughters: Jean (Del) Black, Independence, Mo; Joanne (Robert) Guy, Kernersville, N.C.; and DeLonde (James) Skrovig, Sioux Falls; one son: Richard (Dawn) Geppert, Walker, Minn.; one stepdaughter, Carol Latza, Mitchell; three stepsons: Jerry (Jean) Mohr, Mitchell; Tom (Peggy) Mohr, Grandin, N.D.; and Richard Mohr, Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 15 stepgrandchildren, 20 stepgreat-grandchildren, a sister, Sister Dominic Stoltz, Aberdeen; and two special former daughters-in-law: Leone Geppert, Spearfish; and Beth Eager, Luverne, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry; two husbands, a brother, Frowin; a sister, Sister Loretta; and a stepson-in-law, Gene Latza.
