Lila J. Zacharias, 86, Wagner, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Armour. She was born on Nov. 26, 1926.

Lila J. Zacharias, 86, Wagner, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Armour. She was born on Nov. 26, 1926.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church, Dante. Burial will be in ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home, Wagner. There will be a 7 p.m. rosary/wake service today at the church in Dante.

Lila Joyce Zacharias, daughter of Ed and Nettie (Young) Weber, was born in Wagner. Lila graduated from Wagner School and then attended Southern Normal in Springfield, where she earned her teaching degree.

She taught country school for a couple of years.

Lila married Wesley J. Zacharias on Feb. 13, 1945, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante.

They farmed south of Wagner from 1945 to 1995. Upon their retirement, they moved into Wagner.

Lila and Wes became residents of the Golden Living Center in Armour on Aug. 22, 2011. Wes died Sept. 7, 2012.

Lila was a member of Assumption Catholic Church; Altar Society; a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she was active at the district and state level; and the Card Club. Lila also served as a 4-H leader for many years.

Lila will be remembered for her great cooking and baking, her enjoyment of fishing and her big heart and smile.

Thankful for having shared her life are her children: James, Wagner; Larry (Danielle), Astor, Fla.; Jane (John) Blaha, Dante; Nancy (Steven) Hermanson, Yankton; Mary Lou (Larry) Snyder, Lake Andes; Angela (Roger) Blaha, Wagner; and David (Debora), Long Pine, Neb.; 24 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, three brothers: John (Elaine), Parkston; Dale (Shirley), Salem; and Dean (Karen), Wagner; one sister, Elaine Anderson, Mitchell; two sisters-in-law: Pearl Weber, Wagner; and Angeline Minnehan, Aurora, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband, infant daughter, Anne Marie; daughter-in-law, Mary; two brothers: Lester and Edward Weber; and two brothers-in-law: Bill Anderson and Robert Minnehan.
