Doreen K. Mundy, 89, Des Moines, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Kavanagh House, Des Moines.

She was born on Aug. 28, 1923.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, Des Moines. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born to Donald and Lillian McPherson in Alberta, Canada.

She retired in 2007 after 40 years of bartending, most recently at the Amvets Club.

Doreen had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed the Game Show Channel, embroidering and gardening.

Doreen is survived by her daughters: Sandra Banfield, Cathy Easley, Christine (Steven) Brown, Debi (Don) Decker, Suzzanne (Dan) Stolp and Lori (Todd) Greenwood; her son, Kenny (Laura) Mundy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her trusted companion, Little Bit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and her husband Ernest “Ray” Mundy Sr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League.
