Anna M. Hilton, 75, of Menno, formerly of Lake Norden and White Lake died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the Menno Olivet Care Center.

Anna M. Hilton, 75, of Menno, formerly of Lake Norden and White Lake died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the Menno Olivet Care Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday , , at the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in White Lake with the Rev. Jess Lathrop officiating.

Burial will be in the White Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell.

Anna Marie Hilton was born November 5, 1937, in Mitchell, the daughter of Herman John and Anna Marie (Wraspir) Uhrich.

She graduated from Mitchell High School on May 27, 1955. Anna obtained an undergraduate degree in education at Dakota Wesleyan University in 1959. She pursued further education at the graduate level at Northern State University in Aberdeen.

She married Wm. Clark Hilton on June 1, 1960, in Mitchell. The couple lived in Newcastle, Wyoming at the beginning of their marriage where Ann began her teaching career. However, they decided to return to White Lake where they would reside for about 23 years.

Then in 1984 they moved to Lake Norden, where they would reside for the next 17 years until Ann entered the nursing home in 2001.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in White Lake and the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden. She enjoyed music, reading, outdoor activities and being a dynamic member of the local community. Ann served on the White Lake City Council and the White Lake School Board. Although she started out with an elementary education teaching profession, most of her career would be spent as a nurturing homemaker raising four children.

She fought a good fight in her struggle with Huntington's Disease .

She is survived by her husband, Clark, Lake Norden, daughter Tricia Wempe and husband, Patrick, Arkadelphia, Ark.; three sons: Birch Hilton, Yankton, Wes Hilton and wife Kerry, Sioux Falls and Emory Hilton and wife Angie, McAlester, Okla.; ten grandchildren; brothers: Victor, Pensacola, Fla., Dwight, Garland, Texas, John, Minneapolis. Minn,, Gilbert, Yankton and sisters: Lillian Houge, Lake Norden , Fern Mason, Clinton, Mo., Colleen Belcher, Tucson, Ariz.
