Bernice Emelia Wedmore, 97, Tama, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home, Gladbrook, Iowa, as the result of a lingering illness.
Bernice Emelia Wedmore, 97, Tama, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home, Gladbrook, Iowa, as the result of a lingering illness.
She was born on April 30, 1925.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tama, with the Rev. Michael Mescher and Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Gladbrook.
Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, is handling arrangements.
She was born at Parkston, the daughter of Edward and Ann (Germschmidt) Thelen.
She attended school at Parkston.
On Jan. 13, 1945, she married Harold Wedmore.
Bernice was a homemaker, housewife and worked at Benco for 10 years.
She had lived in Chelsea, Gladbrook and Belle Plaine, Iowa, before moving to Tama four years ago.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children: Calvin (Deb), Mankato, Minn.; Maynard (Pam), Gladbrook; Marlin (Laurie), Urbandale, Iowa; Richard (Joan), Piney Flats, Tenn.; Pat (Diana), Belle Plaine; and Lori Formanek, Waterloo, Iowa.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, in 1994; two brothers, one sister and a granddaughter.
