Phyllis Morrison, 79 Madison, formerly of Salem, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Golden Living, Madison.

Phyllis Morrison, 79 Madison, formerly of Salem, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Golden Living, Madison.

She was born on Jan. 15, 1933.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a 7 p.m. time of sharing.

Phyllis Lewis was born near Chamberlain, to Leon and Carrie (Lillie) Lewis.

She grew up in the Chamberlain area and after school lived in Minnesota for a short time before moving to Portland, Ore. She lived in Oregon for most of her life where she was in charge of ironing the linens for a hotel. While working at the hotel she took an interest in ornate and unusual towels and through her life acquired a large collection of them.

Later in life, she moved back to Salem, where she lived until moving to the nursing home.

Phyllis is survived by two grandchildren, Eric Byer and Heather Wagner, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, her son, William Byer, and all of her siblings.
