Clell Edward Banks, 80, Fedora, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Good Samaritan, Howard.

Clell Edward Banks, 80, Fedora, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Good Samaritan, Howard.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Endeavor Presbyterian Church, Fedora. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Artesian. Visitation will begin at noon today at Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1930, at Mitchell to Edd and Lulu Nevada (Pearson) Banks.

He attended Fedora Public School, graduating in 1948.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

On June 17, 1952, he married Della Mae Wittenhagen at Carthage.

Following his discharge, he came home to the family farm.

He farmed and bought cattle for 13 years. He also worked at Mitchell Sale Barn and Kieffer Oil in Fedora.

He was a member of the Fedora School Board, Fedora Fire Department, township board and Legion commander.

He was a member of Endeavor Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Robert and wife Nancy, Fedora; two daughters: Echo Peterson and husband Bryce, Plankinton; and Julie Bebout and husband George, Woonsocket; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Kathryn Wittenhagen; and many aunts and uncles.
