Carolyn Scott, 66, Canistota, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Canistota Good Samaritan Center, of Stiff Person’s Syndrome.
Carolyn Scott, 66, Canistota, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Canistota Good Samaritan Center, of Stiff Person’s Syndrome.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Church of Canistota. Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday at Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem. Visitation will resume at 5 p.m. at the church, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
She was born on June 11, 1944, at Kulm, N.D., to Cornelius and Esther Hage.
She and her family moved to a farm near Howard, where she attended and graduated from country school. She then graduated from Howard High School.
She received nurse’s training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mitchell and graduated as an LPN.
She held nursing positions at St. Joseph’s, McKennan, Donahue Clinic, Dells Hospital and Canistota Good Samaritan Center.
She was a member of United Church of Canistota and a volunteer until the onset of her illness.
She is survived by her husband, Al; two children: Susan Anderson and husband Matt; and Jeff and wife Angie, all of Canistota; six grandchildren, a sister, Patricia Hage, Golden Valley, Minn.; and a brother, Robert Hage, St. Paul, Minn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Canistota Good Samaritan Center or a nonprofit organization of choice.
