Dolores Wilson, Mitchell

Dolores Wilson, 86, Mitchell, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Terrace Manor, Dell Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with the Rev. Larry Regynski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel with a 7 p.m. Scripture service.

She was born on May 11, 1924, at Mitchell to Sylvester and Josephine (Drees) Barnes

She grew up in Mitchell, attended Eugene Field and Whittier grade schools and attended Notre Dame Junior High School.

On May 11, 1957, she married Roy Wilson at Alexandria.

She was employed by Armour Creameries, Mitchell Produce, Widmann and Lawler Motels and Lounge, Moonlight Bar, Cactus Bar and the Davison County welfare office.

She authored a book, “From the Wrong Side of the Tracks.”

She is survived by her husband, two daughters: Patty Behrend, Minneapolis; and Nancy Wilson, Tea; two sons; Michael, Minneapolis; and Roy, Lincoln, Neb.; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Kraft, Minneapolis; two stepsons: Gene Wilson, San Pedro, Calif.; and Rod Wilson, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and a sister-in-law, Bernita Barnes, Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Lee Wilson; her parents, five brothers: Don, Delmar, Bernard, Bob and James Barnes; and two sisters: Evelyn Hohn and Norma Phillips.
