Lonny Schlim, 37, of Carthage, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, from a vehicle accident southwest of Carthage.

Lonny Schlim, 37, of Carthage, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, from a vehicle accident southwest of Carthage.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Carthage Auditorium in Carthage. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Carthage. Visitation will begin today at 2 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Willoughby Funeral Home, Howard.

He was born May 11, 1973, at DeSmet to Roger and Janyce (Brace) Schlim.

He grew up in the Carthage area and attending Carthage grade school until the sixth grade. He attended the Howard Public School and graduated in 1991.

He attended Lake Area Vo-Tech to become a diesel mechanic. He worked at the John Deere Company in Huron for a few years before starting his own shop on his farm near Carthage.

On Dec. 18, 2004, he married Bobbi Jo Reimann in Rapid City. They lived near Carthage.

He is survived by his wife; his parents; and a brother, Sam, all of Carthage; four nephews; two nieces, his father- and mother-in-law, Bob and Carol Reimann, Olivet; a grandmother, Callista Schlim, Howard; a grandmother-in-law, Frieda Thum, Scotland; sisters-in-law Alisa Bierle and husband, Doug, Ethan; Theresia Newmann and husband Joel, Blissfield, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arnold and Elaine Brace and Elmer Schlim; and an uncle.
