Cecil Larson, 85, De Smet, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at VA Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at American Lutheran Church, De Smet, with the Rev. Randy Koeller officiating. Burial will be in De Smet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Osthus Funeral Home, De Smet.
He is survived by seven children: Nancy Moose and husband Roger, Madison; Gale and wife Kathy; Allan and wife Vicki; and Marcene Smith and husband Cliff, all of De Smet; Margaret Spelbring and husband Gary, Artesian; Daniel and wife Deanna, Brandon; and Kathy Bitner and husband Loren, Dell Rapids; 24 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Patricia Schieder, Howard; and Mary Wienk, Willow Lake.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, in 2006; his parents, six brothers: George, Melvin, Dale, Bernard, Lawrence and Edward; and four sisters: Billie, Eva, Ruby and Rita.
