Lisa Owen, Fort Thompson

Lisa Marie Owen, 47, Fort Thompson, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Chamberlain.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fort Thompson. Burial will be in Christ Episcopal Cemetery, Fort Thompson. Wake services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Fort Thompson Community Center.

Lisa Marie Owen, 47, Fort Thompson, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Chamberlain.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hickey Funeral Chapel, Chamberlain.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1963, in Chamberlain to Ethelreda Ross Bad Moccasin and Floyd Rouillard.

She attended Head Start and elementary school in Fort Thompson and went to Crow Creek High School until she was 16 and moved to Pine Ridge.

She attended Our Lady of Lord School.

She returned to Fort Thompson and married Armand Come Flying Sr.

In 2007, three years after her husband’s death, she married Rio Owen.

She was a lay reader and CCD teacher for her church.

She held various jobs in the community and did a lot of volunteer work before becoming ill with lupus.

She is survived by her husband, five children: Conan Comes Flying, Minneapolis; Kirsten Collins and Angel Comes Flying, both of Fort Thompson; Armand Comes Flying Jr., Chamberlain; and Bennett Comes Flying, Prior Lake, Minn.; nine grandchildren, her siblings: John Henry, Kansas; Manfred Lewis, Sisseton; Robert Bad Moccasin and Renee Bad Moccasin, both of Minnesota; Raynard Bad Moccasin, Rapid City; Bernard Bad Moccasin Jr., Fort Thompson; and Glendan Bad Moccasin; and her mother and stepfather, Bernard Bad Moccasin Sr.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, her father and her grandparents: Francis and Flavia Obago.
