Richard John Pearson, 50, Oacoma, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Sanford Mid Dakota Medical Center, Chamberlain.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Chamberlain. Burial will be in Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, Ola. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Hickey Funeral Chapel, Chamberlain.

He was born on Dec. 19, 1959, at Ispwich to John and Marilyn (Dewey) Pearson.
He attended country school in Brule County in the Ola area and grade school and high school in Chamberlain.
He moved to Wyoming around 1978 to work in the oil fields. He returned to South Dakota for a short time and, in 1986, moved to California.
In 1990, he married Margie McHenry.
They moved to the Chamberlain area in November 1993, where he did excavating on his own and for local companies. He then began working for the city of Pukwana in the maintenance department until around 2004, when he moved to Sheridan, Wyo.
While in Wyoming, he drove truck until his health forced him to retire and return to South Dakota.
He is survived by three children: Amber Thomas and husband Dustin; and Rylan, all of Chamberlain; and Ashley Chrisinger, Gillette, Wyo.; three grandchildren, his mother, Marilyn Woodraska, Oacoma; a sister, Deanna Garland, Oacoma; five brothers: Clint Pearson and wife Denise; and Heath Woodraska, all of Chamberlain; Dallas Pearson and wife Violet; and Tony Woodraska and wife Nicole, all of Oacoma; and Duane Pearson, Pukwana; and many nieces and nephews.
