Milo Harlen Koskan, 80, Wood, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at his home near Wood.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Winner. Burial will be in Winner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mason Funeral Home, Winner, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Milo Harlen Koskan, 80, Wood, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at his home near Wood.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1930, northeast of Wood to Jerry and Daisy (Slechta) Koskan.

He attended Springview rural school through sixth grade, Wood Public Schools through ninth grade and graduated from Winner High School in 1948.

He entered the farming/ranching operation with his parents after graduation. He had a small farm store and sold farm machinery and accessories.

On June 18, 1950, he married Juanita Mitchell at Ideal Presbyterian Church.

He was a member of Rosebud Valley Baptist Church and served in different capacities. He served on school boards for more than 20 years, including Springview, Wood and Wood/Witten.

He served on many other boards, including township, Mellette County Historical Society, Gideons and Baptist Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, four children: Bonnie Blair and husband Alan, Grand Island, Neb.; Robert and wife Lisa; and John and wife Verna, all of Wood; and Kathie Cole, Winner; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, a sister, Martha Kinsley, Murdo; and his mother-in-law, Marian Jeffrey, Missouri Valley, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred.
