Lillian Munson, Howard Lake, Minn.

Lillian Mabelle Munson, 94, Howard Lake, Minn., died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Howard Lake Good Samaritan Care Facility, Howard Lake.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Howard Lake.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Swanson Peterson Funeral Home, Howard Lake. Visitation will resume at 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

Lillian Mabelle Munson, 94, Howard Lake, Minn., died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Howard Lake Good Samaritan Care Facility, Howard Lake.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1915, in rural Sedan, Minn., to William and Vanessa Bowen.

She completed 11 years of school in Sedan and graduated from Glenwood High School.

She received her teaching certificate for Normal School.

On Aug. 15, 1934, she married Floyd Munson in Dassel, Minn.

She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Association.

She is survived by her husband; her children: Beryl and wife Carolyn, Medina, Minn.; Cleo Friederichsen and husband Robert, Buffalo, Minn.; Robert and wife LouAnn; Kristen Pettit and husband Joel, and Ray and wife Patricia, all of Howard Lake; and Mary Beth Reiners and husband Dennis, Mitchell; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Westphal, Howard Lake; and Verna Kellander and husband Maurice, Granada, Minn.; sisters-in-law: Jean Bowen, Glenwood, Minn; Maxine Bowen, Twin Falls, Idaho; Ruth Bowen, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Valoris Ferrell, Sedona, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and seven siblings: Beth Nemes, Inez Norlien, Alice Ketcham, Truman Bowen, Willard Bowen, Warren Bowen and Elsie Cummins.
