Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Platte, with the Rev. Daniel Daum officiating. Burial will be in Platte City Cemetery, Platte. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday.
Platte Funeral Chapel, Platte, is handling arrangements.
She was born on June 5, 1904, at Remson, Iowa, to Louis and Minnie (Postal) Hanno.
She moved to South Dakota at age 9.
She attended Springfield Normal School, Springfield, and taught school for a number of years.
On Aug. 18, 1926, she married Sherman Johnson at Pukwana.
They farmed near Platte until 1955, when they moved into Platte.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Extension Club.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law: Ruth Johnson, Highlandville, Mo.; and Lois Johnson, Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren and a sister, Leona Gray, Sibley, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, two sons: Robert and Keith; her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
