Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Gregory. Burial will be in Hillview Cemetery, Dallas. There will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and visitation today at Kotrba Funeral Home, Gregory.
She was born on June 12, 1920, at Gregory to Bernie and Ethel (Carter) Leatherman.
She grew up on the farm and attended high school at Burke.
During World War II, she worked in the shipyards in Long Beach, Calif., building ships for the war effort.
After the war, she returned to Gregory County and worked at the courthouse until her marriage to Harry Sinkular in 1947.
They lived south of Dallas.
She was a member of Dallas Eastern Star and Rosebud Rebekah Lodge in Gregory, where she held many offices.
She was a lifelong member of Methodist churches in Dallas and later in Gregory.
Her husband died on April 26, 1961, and she continued to live on the farm until her move to Silver Threads in 2009.
She is survived by three children: Larry and wife Sue, Gainesville, Texas; Don and wife Judy, Tucson, Ariz.; and William, Dallas; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a brother, Reuben Leatherman, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
