Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mitchell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the church with a 7 p.m. Scripture service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell.

She was born on March 22, 1993, at Whittier, Calif., to Ada M. Morales and Victor M. Guevara-Valle.

She moved to Mitchell with her family when she was a small child and attended pre-school in Mount Vernon and L.B. Williams Elementary School.

She attended Colegio Mixto La Ensenanaza School in Santa Lucia Cotez, Guatemala, while the family was there.

Upon their return to South Dakota the family lived in Plankinton where she attended first grade. They moved to Mitchell where she attended Longfellow Elementary, Mitchell Middle School and was a sophomore at Mitchell High School.

She had worked delivering The Daily Republic, at Burger King, as a housekeeper at Best Western, at Jack Links, Alpena and was most recently employed at the Twin Dragon Restaurant.

She played hockey, soccer and was a member of the Mitchell High School cross-country and track teams. She had also been a member of the marching band.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She is survived by her mother, Mitchell; two brothers: Manuel and Daniel; a sister, Ada, all of Mitchell; her father, Guatemala; her maternal grandmother, Maria Consuelo Requena de Morales, Guatemala; maternal grandfather, Otilio Morales, Dakota City, Neb.; paternal grandmother, Maria Estela Valle; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Victor Manuel Guevara Maldonado.
