Ronald Greenway, 59, Mitchell, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.

Ronald Greenway, 59, Mitchell, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell.

He was born on March 28, 1950, in Mitchell to Giles and Lillian (Olson) Greenway.

He attended rural grade school and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1968.

On Sept. 2, 1974, he married Mary Lou Smart at McCrory Gardens in Brookings, while attending South Dakota State University.

He owned Ron Greenway Machinery in Mitchell for many years.

He is survived by his wife, two sons: Briar, San Diego; and Dominic, North Webster, Ind.; three granddaughters, his parents, Mitchell; his father- and mother-in-law, Wally and Donna Smart, Sioux Falls; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Char Greenway.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Mary Lou; I was truly surprised and saddened to hear this news. Even though it has been many years since I have seen you folks, I still considered Ron a great friend. My memories of him all involve having fun and when I picture him in my mind I see exactly the same smile as is in this picture. I will miss him greatly. Steve Duerre (Droop)

Mary Lou and boys: I was deeply saddened to hear of Ron's untimely passing. You and your families are in my thoughts and I hope you find strength in this mournful time. Ron will be missed by all of us who were honored to call him a friend. Surely the music in heaven will be getting an upgrade. Tom Simpson Sioux Falls SD
