Bonnie Jane Dreyer, 76, Winner, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Avera Heart Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Bonnie Jane Dreyer, 76, Winner, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Avera Heart Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Winner. Burial will be in Winner Cemetery, Winner. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Mason Funeral Home, Winner, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1933, in Winner to Clarence and Margaret (Waters) Smith.
She lived on the family farm near Witten before moving with her family to Witten.
She attended public school in Witten and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
On Nov. 25, 1949, she married Howard Dreyer in Winner.
They traveled throughout South Dakota, working road construction before settling in Winner.
She worked for a time for John Carlson Inc. and Husky Oil in Winner.
She is survived by her husband, four daughters: Lavaun Turnquist, Aberdeen; Dixie Nilson and husband Galen, Kearney, Neb.; Jackie Carlon and husband Jim, Pierre; and Jan Schaeffer and husband Brian, Winner; a son, Doug and wife Brenda, Warner; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a sister, Belva Smith, Rapid City; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; her parents; and three brothers.
