Donna L. Johnson, 83, Plankinton, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Plankinton. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Mount Vernon. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1926, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to Ernest and Marie (Schiernbeck) Hamann.
On Jan. 5, 1947, she married Dean W. Johnson at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mount Vernon.
They made their home in rural Plankinton, where they farmed for 33 years.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church until 1972 and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Plankinton.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aide for 30 years and a member of American Legion Auxiliary of Mount Vernon.
She worked at Storla Store (Creamery) for many years and then at Storla Sunset Nursing Home.
She is survived by four children: Michael and wife Jeanie; Stan and wife Marlene; Cindy Hoffman and husband Terry, all of Plankinton; and Linda Grams and husband Robert, Sturgis; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant granddaughter, her parents, five brothers and one sister.
A memorial fund has been established.
