Betty J. Williamson, 73, Fort Pierre, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Pierre.

Betty J. Williamson, 73, Fort Pierre, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Pierre.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Fort Pierre. Burial will be in Scotty Philip Cemetery, Fort Pierre. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Isburg Funeral Chapel, Pierre.

She was born on May 15, 1936, in Farmer to Emmett and Susie Newlon.

She went to Catholic grade school in Farmer and graduated from high school in Spencer.

In 1959, she married Morris Dean Pfeiffer.

On Dec. 2, 1972, she married Dudley A. Williamson in Fort Pierre.

She was the owner of Dudley’s Valley Tap, Fort Pierre.

She is survived by a son, Sammy Williamson and wife Melisa; four daughters: Lisa Jo Pfeiffer, Holly Rilling, Kelly Fennel and husband Herman; and Jill Pfeiffer; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two sisters: Rose Newlon and Sister Carol Ann Newlon; a brother, Gordon Newlon; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers: Lionel, Russell and Norman Newlon; and a sister, Bonnie Zens.
