Mitchell “Mitch” Palander, 47, Mitchell, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Mitchell. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Murdo Cemetery, Murdo. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with a 5 p.m. prayer service.

He was born on June 16, 1962, at Kadoka to Curtis and Carol (Walker) Palander.
He grew up and attended school at Murdo.
He resided in Wyoming and Nevada before moving to Mitchell in 2000.
He was employed at Toshiba America Inc.
He is survived by a son, Curtis, Casper, Wyo.; two sisters: Melissa Sherwood and husband Terry, Black Hawk; and Denise Niehoff and husband Brent, Mitchell; five nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces, two great-nephews and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
