Frances L. Wilson, 56, Lower Brule, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls.
Frances L. Wilson, 56, Lower Brule, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lower Brule Community Center, Lower Brule. Burial will be in the Holy Comforter Episcopal Cemetery, Lower Brule. Wake services were held Sunday.
She was born July 18, 1953, at Chamberlain to Alfred Ziegler and Elmyra Wilson. She attended grade school at Pierre Indian School in Pierre and high school at Flandreau. Later, she attended technical school at Roswell, N.M. She then lived in Denver, Colo. and most of her life in Albuquerque and Crownpoint, N.M.
She returned to Lower Brule in the mid 90s.
She is survived by her father; stepmother, Gail, Lower Brule; son Robert Chavez, Sioux Falls; three daughters: Freedom Martinez, Raton, N.M.; Sherri Hawthorne, Huron; Alison Hawthorne, Lower Brule; seven sisters: Annette Big Eagle, Lower Brule; Alfreda Bear Track, N.M.; Brenda Estes; Vicki Her Many Horses; Lori Ziegler; Kathy Ziegler; Nicki Ziegler, all of Lower Brule; a brother, Sonny Ziegler, Lower Brule; and eight grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her mother; and a brother, Patrick Wilson.
