Ronald Mark Schroeder, 65, Alpena, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls.
Ronald Mark Schroeder, 65, Alpena, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Welter Funeral Home, Huron. Visitation; will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at United Parish Church, Alpena, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born on July 13, 1944, at Huron to W.O. and Maxine (Walters) Schroeder.
He graduated from Alpena High School in 1962.
He attended South Dakota school of Mines and Technology, graduating in 1967 with a degree in civil engineering.
He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and the Society of Civil Engineers.
On Aug. 16, 1964, he married Shirley Jurgens in Wessington Springs.
He worked for Amoco Oil for 32 years in different management capacities, living in Casper, Wyo.; Houston, Texas; and Chicago.
He retired in April 1999 as a senior project manager.
They returned to Alpena.
He was a member of Elks in Casper and NRA.
He was also a member of United Parish Church.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters: Rochelle Agrigento and husband Ron, Homewood, Ill.; and Wendy Chandler and husband Todd, Steger, Ill.; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
