Betty Johnson, Watertown

Betty Jean Johnson, 84, Watertown, formerly of Huron, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Jenkins Living Center, Watertown.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at American Lutheran Church, Huron. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Huron. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today at Welter Funeral Home, Huron, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born on June 25, 1925, at Huron to Harry and Marie (Chase) Wiese.

She attended Huron schools and graduated from Huron High School in 1943.

She received a degree from College of Commerce, Huron.

On July 31, 1943, she married Delbert Johnson in Ephrata, Wash.

She worked for Wiese Seed and Appliance in Huron for a number of years. She also worked as a cook for Huron High School from 1966 to 1970.

She moved to Watertown in 2008.

She was a member of American Lutheran Church, Huron.

She is survived by a son, Gary and wife Michele Moldrem, Watertown; a daughter, Barbara Moret and husband Al, Madrid, Iowa; four grandchildren five greatgrandchildren and a sister, Etta Mae Doolittle, rural Wolsey.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and her parents.
