Richard Calvin Skipper, 50, Live Oak, Fla., and Pukwana, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, in South Dakota of complications of diabetes. Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Harris Funeral Home and Cremations, Live Oak, Fla.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1958.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Live Oak.
He was a 1976 graduate of Suwannee High School and worked as a beekeeper with his family-owned business all his life.
He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Devin and wife Ashley, Live Oak; three granddaughters, his mother, Jeannie Skipper; a brother, Robert; and two sisters: Carolyn Skipper and Elizabeth Skipper; all of Live Oak.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Skipper.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or the American Diabetes Association, 8384 Baymeadows Road, Suite 10, Jacksonville, Fla. 32256.
