Rick Davids, Edgemont

Rick Davids, 60, Edgemont, formerly of Mitchell, died Friday, June 5, 2009, in Hot Springs.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Rick Davids, 60, Edgemont, formerly of Mitchell, died Friday, June 5, 2009, in Hot Springs.

He was born July 3, 1948, to Clair “Bill” and Joy (Vaughn) Davids.

He attended grade school in Artesian and graduated from Fedora High School in 1966.

He worked an assortment of jobs before working with the Milwaukee and Burlington Northern Railroads in 1969. He retired in 2004.

On June 5, 1971, he married Judy Jones in Mitchell.

In 1976, the couple moved to Edgemont, where they resided until his death.

He was the South Dakota Legislative Director for 26 years.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Genny Roberts, Miles City, Mont.; a son, John and wife Megan, Mitchell; two brothers: Shane, Fedora; and Trace and wife Kathy, Crooks; five grandsons; and one neice.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
