Gary L. May, 52, Scott, La., died Monday, May 11, 2009.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Martin and Castille Funeral Home, Scott, with the Rev. Ira Robinson, associate pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Basil Cemetery, Judice, La. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Gary L. May, 52, Scott, La., died Monday, May 11, 2009.

He was a native of Mitchell and resident of Lafayette for most of his life.

He was a welder for Begnaud Manufacturing for more than 21 years.

He is survived by his wife, Heidi Clark May; two daughters: Danielle A. Robertson and husband Joseph; and Jada Star Goody and husband Wilson; seven grandchildren, his mother, Vera (Peer) May; a sister, Connie Muller and husband Danny; three brothers: Terry and wife Connie; Tim; and Danny and wife Rene; his in-laws: Gretel and S.P. Breaux; and Mr. and Mrs. Curliss Clark Sr.; his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Curliss Clark Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Clark; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brinkley; and Ann Carvell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin D. May.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Cancer Institute or the National Institute of Health, 9030 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, Md. 20892-8202.

Dear Tim, Danny & Rene and family, I'm so sorry to hear about Gary's passing. I always remember him as a kind and caring person in school at Artesian and know that he will be deeply missed. Our prayers are with your family. God bless, Paula (Ness) and Douglas Northrup Letcher, SD
