Myrtle Theodora Emilie Auch, 88, Kaylor, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Scotland, with the Rev. David W. Ellis officiating. VFW Auxiliary rites will be presented by Paul Grossheusch Post No. 2966, Scotland. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Scotland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Goglin Funeral Home, Scotland.

She was born on June 8, 1920, in Scotland to Theodore and Emilie (Janke) Haase.
She attended Kaylor School and graduated from Scotland High School in 1939.
She worked as a secretary in the Hutchinson County register of deeds office in Olivet.
She then worked at Fantle’s millinery department in Yankton.
She returned to Scotland to work as a clerk in the Gambles Store, eventually serving as manager.
On Feb. 3, 1944, she married Oscar L. Auch and returned with him to New York, where she worked in Macy’s Department Store while he was in the service.
In 1946, they returned to Menno and later to Kaylor.
She began work as a dietician in 1959 at the Human Services Center in Yankton, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 2966 for more than 55 years.
In January 2008, she became a resident of Majestic Bluffs, Yankton.
She is survived by three children: DeLyle, Kaylor; Sharon Weerheim, Pocatello, Idaho; and Roger and wife Monica, Littleton, Colo.; two stepchildren: Vonnie and Scott; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and a sister, Evelyn Haynes, Scotland.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, a grandson, a great-grandson, her parents, two infant brothers: Theodore and DeLyle; and a brother-in-law, John Haynes.
