Thousands of geese congregate on the ice Tuesday morning at Lake Mitchell. The hunting season for light geese (snow, blue and Ross geese) is open and runs until May 5. There is no limit on the amount of light geese that can be harvested during this season, in an attempt to reduce the large population.
