This 1967 photo was entered into a photo contest by Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Wright of Mitchell and was titled “Civilization.” You are looking northwest on South Burr Street with Rumbolz Conoco Service, owned by Ernest F. Rumbolz at 531 S. Burr (notice the gas prices) on the left. Just north of that is John’s Drive-In Liquor Store, owned by John Runge at 509 S. Burr.
