Black Hills-area wildfires scorch 6,000 acres

RAPID CITY (AP) — Communities canceled fireworks displays and the American Red Cross geared up to help families in need as the July 4th holiday approached with wildfires burning about 6,000 acres of land in southwestern South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming.
