First lady: State must reduce infant deaths

PIERRE — South Dakota must improve pregnant women’s access to medical care, teach parents about safe sleep practices for babies and take other steps to reduce the state’s infant mortality rate, first lady Linda Daugaard told a legislative committee Tuesday.
