In honor of a fine actor on life's stage

My friend Donna Fjelstad called one day last February or March and asked if I’d be interested in running for the Legislature. Probably not in this lifetime, I said. Maybe not in the next. “Well, I’m going to,” she said, with just enough edge in her voice to make me bite back the opinion I was thinking of sharing about the likely outcome of the excellent adventure she was planning.
