Herseth Sandlin among top earmarkers in U.S. House

Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin made her mark as an earmark star during the last two years. Herseth Sandlin, D-S.D., was in the top five among House members for producing earmarked dollars for her state in both fiscal years 2009 and 2010, according to a study by Congressional Quarterly. In 2010, Herseth Sandlin ranked fifth in the House, earmarking $122.8 million for South Dakota. In 2009, she brought home $207.4 million, good enough for fourth place in the rankings.
