Tripp County Deputy Sheriff Travis Schwandt said 71 pieces of plywood were tacked over windows Saturday night alone, and the damage assessment is ongoing. A lot of the immediate cleanup effort was done by Colome’s volunteer fire department.

COLOME — Residents of Colome are waiting for insurance adjustors and cleaning up the town after Saturday’s storm dropped baseballsized hail and around 5 inches of rain, resulting in broken windows, flooded streets and downed trees.Tripp County Deputy Sheriff Travis Schwandt said 71 pieces of plywood were tacked over windows Saturday night alone, and the damage assessment is ongoing.
