Navy Lt. Clinton Wermers was found at 1 a.m. Wednesday close to the T-34 Turbomentor plane that he and a student pilot were flying before the accident, said Jay Cope, deputy public affairs officer for Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Florida.

The body of a Mitchell native was found late Tuesday evening in Lake Pontchartrain near New Orleans.Navy Lt.
