Preservation office disapproves of proposed building in historic district

The State Historic Preservation Office disapproves of the city of Mitchell’s plan to build a pole barn in the city’s Historic Commercial District.
State officials voiced their disapproval in a letter they sent to the city earlier this month. The city, as required by law, had earlier notified the state office of the plan to build the pole barn in the historic area.
