Iowa group hopes to create own version of archaeological site
A busload of Iowans converged on the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village Thursday, hoping to get tips on how to create a similar project near Glenwood, Iowa, roughly 20 miles south of Council Bluffs.Shirley Frederiksen, coordinator with Golden Hills Resource Conservation & Development Area in Oakland, Iowa, said the group is working to develop plans to preserve a recently acquired archaeological site.
