Sports: Big fourth puts Post 18 over Parkston

Pitcher Brett Young and leadoff hitter Beau VanOverschelde had the kind of afternoons for Mitchell Post 18 that any ballplayer would want to always remember — and that the Parkston Post 194 players and fans might want to quickly forget. Young blanked Parkston on two hits through seven innings, while VanOverschelde belted a triple, a double, a home run and a single in his first four at-bats as Mitchell ran away with an 18-0 win and kept the once-beaten squad in contention for the South Dakota American Legion baseball championship. Young’s defense played error-free baseball to back up the pitcher’s gem.
