Sports: Murra, Jansa lead women's state amateur tournament after first day

The air was heavy with rain that never came on Friday morning, making for a perfect day to play the first day of the SDGA Women’s Amateur Golf Championships at Lakeview Golf Course. Karla Murra and Julie Jansa carded identical scores — 35 on the front half of the course and a 37 on the back nine — to finish the day at 72, par for the course, and tied for the lead. Just one stroke behind the leading pair is Maggie Murphy with a 73.
