Sports: Former DWU catcher back in town with Dogs

Cody Palmer has done his fair share of bouncing around in the baseball world the past few years. The former Dakota Wesleyan standout catcher, who played in the St. Louis Cardinals minor-league system for more than two years, was cut by the St. Joseph Blacksnakes of the American Association on June 4. After that disappointment, Palmer decided to head back to Mitchell. Now, he’s playing with the Mitchell Mad Dogs. Palmer said he was relieved to have been released by St. Joe after not getting as much playing time as he thought when he signed with the club.
