Family donates $240,000 to proposed soccer complex
The Earl Nordby family has donated $240,000 to a proposed 10-field soccer complex in Mitchell, city officials announced Monday. Nordby, of Huron, owns the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Huron, which has locations in Mitchell, Chamberlain and Pierre. Nordby’s son-in-law, Dan DesLauriers, is the sales manager in Mitchell and is the husband of Nordby’s daughter, Diane DesLauriers. In honor of the donation, the proposed soccer complex has been given the name “Pepsi Soccer Complex.” Land for the complex already has been acquired near the airport in northern Mitchell.By: The Daily Republic, The Daily Republic
