Young area scientists, engineers show projects; four win top honors

Area students had a chance to display their scientific prowess on Tuesday with a variety of projects — from offering alternative fuel sources to the ability to save a child’s life. Students from 17 different counties competed in the 15th annual South Central South Dakota Regional Science and Engineering Fair with four students receiving top honors, which include a trip to Albuquerque, N.M., for the international fair. Awards were also given in three main categories.
